biography

John Borger aka Borgeous is originally from Florida and then went to Los Angeles as a DJ on the west coast. He first drew attention to himself in early 2013 with his own production, Gangsterous . This was followed by a remix of Pour It Up by Rihanna together with producer The Cataracs . Together with the Canadian duo Dvbbs and once again with the US ghost producer Niles Hollowell-Dhar alias The Cataracs or KSHMR, he produced the title Tsunami . This developed into a festival hit in the summer of the year, especially in Europe. The Dutchman Sander van Doorn published the piece on his label and it reached number one in the Nederlandse Top 40 . A little later, the song also rose to number one in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium.

Together with the Belgian DJ brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , another song was released just a few months later with Dvbbs and KSHMR. This is called Stampede and is based on a style similar to Tsunami . Although the single could not keep up commercially with its predecessor, Stampede gained a similar population and reached the charts in Belgium and France. In late 2013, Borgeous announced his solo single Invincible . The single was released on January 20, 2014, and the official music video, which has been viewed more than ten million times to date, was uploaded by Spinnin 'Records on January 10, 2014. The vocals were donated by the American singer Julia Michaels . Although fans were hoping for a big room track, the song was recorded in progressive house style.

In collaboration with British rapper Tinie Tempah , he recorded a vocal version of their track Tsunami with the duo . The remix was released on March 9, 2014. Just a week after its release, the title was number one on the UK singles charts. For the US release of the song, they brought the American rapper Tyga into the studio. A single release date has not yet been announced, but it is said to be on Tyga's fourth studio album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty . The vocal version is already available on the Internet.

In spring 2014, a soundtrack entitled Celebration appeared on the Internet . Due to the strong "tsunami style" resembling drop, the song was assigned to Dvbbs and Borgeous. None of the artists commented on this. On February 4, 2014, Borgeous uploaded a preview of the song Celebration to its official YouTube channel. It turned out, however, that it is not the soundtrack, but a new solo single by the DJ in electro house style. In June 2014 the song Wildfire was released , which in addition to progressive house also embodies elements of trance music. In the same month the DJ released the track Breathe , which for the first time resembles the big-room style of Tsunami . On July 14, 2014, Beast appeared together with Thomas Gold. However, there was only one release on the music platform Beatport.

After the single Break the House released in October 2014 , which he recorded together with the Dutch DJ Tony Junior, the song Toast was released in collaboration with the American East Coast rapper Waka Flocka Flame . The chorus consists of a rap part by American rapper Wiz Khalifa, who was originally the chorus of the song More Champagne by Khalifa and DJ Whoo Kid. The official music video for Toast also consists, on the one hand, of a newly recorded part and live performances by Waka Flocka that have been edited together, as well as the music video for More Champagne . The song appeared as a free download. With the following track Tutankhamun , Borgeous released a big room track together with the Canadian DJ duo Dzeko & Torres on November 24, 2014. The official music video has counted several million views to this day. After a remix for the song Up We Go by the Canadian musician Lights , they decided to start working in the studio together. This resulted in the vocal progressive house song Zero Gravity , which was released on December 18, 2014.

Borgeous started 2015 with a song in the style of the currently very popular deep house style. The song was produced together with Canadian DJ Shaun Frank and singer Delaney Jane. The release took place on January 2, 2015, with the music video, which has been viewed more than two million times to date, already appeared in mid-December 2014. The song received very positive reviews for both the vocals and the instrumental and was also able to reach the Belgian singles charts. With They Don't Know Us , the producer released another success in March 2015 together with Julia Michaels, who already sang Invincible . After just a few hours, the music video had several hundred thousand views and after just one week several million views.

For the American dance house festival "Life in Color", Borgeous produced the song Big Bang together with progressive house DJ David Solano . The release date was April 13, 2015. The style is based on a big room drop. However, due to a lack of innovation, the song received negative criticism in advance, but it was still considered one of the summer festival hits. Big Bang moved up to the top position in the Beatport Top 100 . A progressive house remix of his This Could Be Love , produced by the then 16-year-old DJ and producer Ryos, received extremely positive reviews and was more popular than the original in a Facebook vote.
