Lil Jon
Lil Jon (born January 17, 1971 in Atlanta , Georgia ; real name Jonathan Mortimer Smith ) is an American rapper and music producer . He is considered one of the most important representatives of crunk music and, together with Lil 'Bo and Big Sam, forms the trio Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz . He describes himself as the King of Crunk .
biography
Jonathan Mortimer Smith was best known as a local radio host and DJ until 1993 when producer Jermaine Dupri offered him a job as A&R manager at So So Def Records. At the same time he began to create remixes for artists such as Usher , Xscape or Total and also to work on his first pieces. In 1996 he finally released the album Get Crunk, Who U Wit?: Da Album, together with Lil 'Bo and Big Sam under the synonym Lil Jon & The East Side Boys . Six more years passed, however, until the final breakthrough came in 2002/03 with the singles I Don't Give a Fuck and Get Low, as well as the album Kings of Crunk, which was released in parallel . Meanwhile, he continued to act as a producer. In 2004, he was instrumental in the success of the world's number one hits Yeah! (Usher) and goodies ( Ciara ) responsible. Since September 4, 2006 he has been hosting the program "Pimp My Ride International" with Fat Joe .

Lil Jon often uses short expressions like "What !?" and "Yeah!" In his songs, which are called out loud in many places. The American comedian Dave Chappelle took this as an opportunity to caricature Lil Jon several times in his Chappelle's Show .
Lil Jon played himself in a small supporting role in the films Date Movie (USA 2006), Soul Plane (USA 2004) and Scary Movie 4 (USA 2006).
He played with Snoop Dogg , David Banner and Xzibit in the music video of the song Twisted Transistor by the nu-metal band Korn .
His famous hit Get Low (2003) can be heard in the video game Need for Speed: Underground .
