Chappelle's show

Chappelle's Show is an American comedy show that was produced from 2003 to 2006.

The show was hosted by American comedian and actor Dave Chappelle . The weekly program on Comedy Central (in Germany on Comedy Central Deutschland ) mainly makes fun of the relationship between white Americans and African Americans. In 2005 Chappelle got out of the contract with Comedy Central during the recordings for the third season, so that the show was no longer produced. The already finished episodes were later published under the title “The Lost Episodes”, moderated by Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings .

Dave Chappelle not only moderates, but also plays in all the skits on the show himself. So he takes u. a. the musicians Rick James , Prince , Lil Jon , colleagues like Wayne Brady and the former President George W. Bush for the shovel.

In addition, there are performances by American hip-hop music greats such as Snoop Dogg , Ludacris , Erykah Badu , DMX , Mos Def , The Roots , Common , Kanye West , OutKast or, for example, Wyclef Jean , who also participate in one or the other sketch themselves . For example, Snoop Dogg stars in an episode of the second season by synchronizing a character from Knee High Street ( Sesame Street ). Questlove from The Roots also appears in some episodes, as does Mos Def.

At times, Comedy Central broadcast the series in German synchronization, which, however, is criticized by most fans due to the poor portability of the jokes and the resulting loss of humor and is considered to be much worse than the subtitled version.

Since August 31, 2009 the show has been running again on MTV. The programs run in English with German subtitles.
