The term was used to describe the music of many DJs who ranked in the DJ-Mag Top 100 , including David Guetta , Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , Hardwell , Skrillex , Steve Aoki , and Tiësto . The best-known subgenres include big room and dirty house in particular.

Electro House mostly contains elements of the Tech House genre , for example striking basslines, short and shrill riffs and minimal to medium amounts of percussion instruments . Unlike Techhouse, however, the style can include electro-influenced synths as well as vocal or instrumental samples. Typically the tempo is around 128 to 130 BPM. New compositions have a "dirty" bass sound, which is created, for example, by tilting oscillation or FM synthesis ( multiband compression and distortion ).

history

The Tomorrowland , one of the festival, in which electro-house is considered the most popular genre.

The genre is described as a fusion of the genres house and electro . The genre finds its origin either as a direct combination of genres or in pure electro music, fused with synthpop and techno, during the revival of electroclash in the late 1990s. One possibility for the origin of the term is that the word "electro" acts as an adjective or categorizing (for example "futuristic" or "heavy looking") of the noun "house".

Early songs decisive for the electro-house music were, form the tracks Dark Invader from arrivers from 1996 and Raw Shit by Basement Jaxx (1997) and Mr. Oizos 1999's hit Flat Beat .

The track Satisfaction by DJ and producer Benny Benassi , which he released in 2002, is considered to be the forerunner of electro house in the commercial and mainstream music arena. In 2005 the genre increased its popularity a lot. In November 2006, the electro house tracks Put Your Hands Up For Detroit by Dutch DJ Fedde Le Grand and Yeah Yeah by Bodyrox and Luciana were released. The songs reached number one and number two on the official British singles charts. Since then, the genre has developed in different directions and is represented by world-famous musicians such as Afrojack , Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , Hardwell and Skrillex , which greatly increases its popularity.

Subgenres

Complextro

Typical Complextro track: Audials End of the Line

Complextro embodies slick and complicated bass lines and textures that are created by a highly tailored sequence of instruments. The term is an artificial word, created from the words "complex" and "electro". It comes from the American producer Porter Robinson to describe the music he produced in 2010. He used video game sounds or chiptunes and merged them with the music he created using analog synthesizers. Other representatives of the genre are Kill the Noise , Knife Party , Savant , Zedd , Dyro , Madeon and Skrillex .

The best-known representatives of the genre include The Bloody Beetroots , Crookers , Mightyfools, Sinden and Switch . Successful examples

Moombahton is a mixture of Dutch house and reggaeton . The identification features include a “thick, spread out bass line, combined with a dramatic build-up and a two-step impulse, with quick drum fills”. It can be freely created under the condition that 108 BPM is adhered to. Moombahton is a made-up word consisting of "Moombah" and "Reggaeton". This has its origin in DJ Dave Nada when he slowed down the tempo of the Afrojack remix of the song Moombah by Silvio Ecomo together with Chuckie to bring the taste of the partygoers in the direction of reggae tone . Other representatives are Diplo , Dillon Francis and Munchi.
