Ummet Ozcan (born August 16, 1982 ) is a Dutch DJ and music producer . He is the son of Turkish parents and grew up in the Netherlands.

Career

Ummet Ozcan's career began in 2007. In the following five years he mainly published music in the field of trance music . When electro house was on the rise in 2012 , Ozcan turned more to this genre. At the end of 2012 he started producing big room houses.

In 2013 he was able to place himself in the top 100 of the DJ magazine for the first time . In 2014 he was a guest at major EDM events such as the Ultra Music Festival , Tomorrowland , Open Beatz (near Herzogenaurach ) and Electric Love (on the Salzburgring ).

His singles are regularly in the Beatport Top-10. In 2013 he reached number 1 on the Beatport charts and number 96 in the Dutch Top 100 charts with the single The Code , released together with the Dutch DJ duo W&W . Ozcan also topped the Beatport charts with his own single Raise Your Hands in April 2014 and came in at number 47 in the Belgian Ultratop charts in the Dutch- speaking part of Belgium and at number 96 in the French Top 100 charts. In 2014, together with Paul van Dyk , he published Come with Me (We Are One) , the official anthem of the We Are One Festival in Berlin .

Ummet Ozcan's greatest commercial success in his career so far was the single Revolution , which he wrote and released in 2014 with R3hab and Nervo . It reached number 37 in the UK charts. But the single Raise Your Hands is also a great success.

At the Ultra Music Festival the Belgian DJ brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike announced together with Steve Aoki as "3 Are Legend" the release of the song The Hum in which Ozcan is involved. It was published on April 20, 2015, but was already on the Internet at the end of 2013 under the title The Wolf . The reason for the wrong title was the use of the hum and knock from the film The Wolf of Wall Street , which Mark Hanna Jordan Belford teaches. The Melbourne-Bounce and Big-Room inspired track is based on the typical Ummet Ozcan style. For the official music video he worked with Charlie Sheen , Jean-Claude van Damme and the guys from DVBBS , among others .

However, in 2015 the producer suddenly changed his style of music. After his previous productions, including Smash , SuperWave or, most recently, The Hum , were very similar in their style and, in addition to big room elements, also showed traces of the Melbourne bounce, singles like On the Run or Kensei are a lot more special and also from other styles. With his singles Stars and Wake Up The Sun , which were released from the end of 2015 to the beginning of 2016 , he also represented the style of progressive house for the first time.

On May 9, 2016, the song Melody was released together with Steve Aoki and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike , which advanced to number 12 in the Belgian singles charts and reached gold status. In Germany and many other European countries, the instrumental piece, which gained popularity in particular due to its catchy melody, entered the charts of many music services . After Wickerman and the very big-room-heavy Megatron , Ozcan and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike released Jaguar on September 9, 2016, a production that has been expected since 2013. For copyright reasons, through the use of the melody sample of the song of the same name by DJ Yoeri, the song was not released as a single. In the course of the “Sound of Madness” project by the Belgian brothers, the title was ultimately released as a free track.
