Charlie Sheen (* 3. September 1965 as Carlos Irwin Estévez in New York ) is an American actor , in particular through cinema comedies like The Major League and Hot Shots! - The mother of all films and sitcoms ( Two and a Half Men ) became known, which are completely in contrast to his initial quite serious roles, such as in Platoon or Wall Street .

Life

Charlie Sheen is the youngest son and the third of four children of the actor Martin Sheen (real name Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez), whose stage name Sheen he took over. His mother is the artist Janet Estévez (née Templeton). Sheen has two brothers, Emilio Estévez and Ramón Estévez , and a sister, Renée Estévez , who are all actors. On November 17, 2015, Sheen stated on NBC's Today Show that he had contracted the HI virus and had found out about it about four years earlier. Film career

At the age of 13 he accompanied his father to the filming of the film Apocalypse Now and was so excited that he wanted to become an actor too. He made Super 8 films with his schoolmates Rob Lowe , Sean Penn and Chris Penn .
