Emilio Estevez
Emilio Estevez (Spanish spelling Emilio Estévez ; born May 12, 1962 in New York ) is an American film actor and director . In contrast to his brother Charlie Sheen , he kept the family name and does not use the more well-known stage name of his father Martin Sheen .
Life
Estevez, who was considered to be one of the brat pack's most hopeful talents , suffered a serious career turnaround as an adult during the 1990s. His work as an actor includes more than 40 film and television productions.
He made his directorial debut in 1986 with the film Wisdom - Dynamite and Cool Blood . Another directorial work followed in 1990 and 1996. In the 2000s, he directed individual episodes of television series such as Cold Case , CSI: NY and The Guardian - Retter mit Herz, along with other films .
The end of 2005 he wrote the book Bobby and also directed this film against the backdrop of the assassination of US Senator Robert F. Kennedy , the Democratic presidential candidate. The filming again drew public attention to the main location of the film, the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles , where Kennedy was shot on the night of June 5, 1968. Preparations were made for the demolition of the long-vacant building, which had to give way to a school complex, during the shooting.
Estevez's siblings Charlie Sheen , Ramon Estevez and Renée Estevez are also actors. He has a son (* 1984) and a daughter (* 1986) with the model Carey Salley. In 1992 he married the pop singer Paula Abdul , in 1994 the childless marriage was divorced.
