action

The young lawyer Gordon Bombay has won 30 cases in a row with some unfair tricks. However, his unscrupulousness also damages the reputation of his law firm . When Gordon is caught drunk behind the wheel again, his boss Gerald Ducksworth negotiates a deal with the judge : Gordon should do 500 hours of community service as a youth ice hockey coach, so that he can learn a lesson in fairness and team spirit. Of course he is not very enthusiastic about this task, but since he was a keen player himself as a teenager, he finally accepts.

But when he sees that his protégés are losing game after game and embarrassing themselves terribly, it awakens his sporting spirit. He finances all of his team's equipment with funds from his law firm, and the first successes are soon to be seen under his leadership. With the new name Ducks , Gordon leads the former losers to the final of the Minnesota Junior Championship . There the Ducks meet the Hawks , the former team of trainer Gordon and Ducks player Banks, with whose trainer Jack Reilly Gordon still has a bill. Ultimately, the Ducks win the final with a penalty from Charlie Conway.
