As good as dead - Dead Like Me: The Film (Original title: Dead like Me: Life After Death ) is an American fantasy film directed by Stephen Herek from 2009. It continues the plot from the series Dead Like Me - As good as tot (2003-2004) continued. It is a direct-to-DVD production and was released on February 17, 2009. In Germany, the film was broadcast on free TV on July 30, 2011 on RTL II .

action

The film takes place five years after the first series episode: The task of the soul collectors group is to extract the souls of people who are about to die. Their meeting place, the Waffle House, burned down the same day that their leader Rube also disappears. She soon meets her new boss, Cameron Kane, a clever businessman who was killed in a fall from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He equips them with color-coordinated smartphones and pampers them with luxurious accommodations. The group begins to commit misdeeds and to abuse immortality for financial gain.

George Lass is fired from the Happy Times temp agency after yelling at an employee for late delivering a report. The employee quits and later sues her for harassment. George reveals her true identity to her sister Reggie. She helps her prepare for the death of her friend Hudson Hart.

George's friends confront Kane and learn that he recognized and cared that the "pebbles" of their misdeeds would cause "waves" of misfortune elsewhere. Unsatisfied with his leadership style, they try to figure out how exactly a soul collector can be killed. They shoot at and drown him to no avail before finally dismembering and cremating him. His ashes are then shot into orbit along with those of Murray, the cat of Georges Chef Delores. At startup, Delores tells George that the clerk who sued her for harassment did so on several of the clerk's previous jobs, and George is being reinstated, now with a corner office.

The soul collectors go away wondering who their new boss will be. After watching her sister and mother go on vacation, George is suddenly overwhelmed by post-its falling from the sky - which her former leader Rube also used for his assignments to the group. She was elected the new leader of the group.

production
