action

One day the earth falls into the tail of the comet Rhea M. and all technical devices on earth suddenly develop a consciousness and a life of their own. Without warning, ATMs begin to insult their customers, a vending machine shoots people with cans, and harmless kitchen appliances turn into deadly killing machines.

A few trucks suddenly have a life of their own as well, besieging a group of people at a remote truck stop called Dixie Boy in Wilmington , North Carolina. They decide to fight back and a fight between humans and trucks begins. The besieged sit in a trap between the monstrous semi-trailers on the one hand and a callous manager on the other. One of the trapped develops the theory that aliens have taken over the earthly machines in order to exterminate humanity and to claim planet earth for themselves.

A young ex-convict finally takes the initiative to end the seemingly hopeless situation. The sudden appearance of a military vehicle with an M60 machine gun attached, however, destroys his plans when it forces the besieged people to refuel the monster trucks by force of arms . The trapped suddenly realize that there is much more at stake than just their own survival. On the side, however, the human prisoners succeed in exploring the Dixie Boy's underground sewer system . You see the last chance to escape. At night they use the sewers to escape, reach a small harbor followed by the trucks and sail in a boat towards the island of Haven, which is said to be car-free.

A fade-in informs that a UFO had been destroyed in orbit and the earth left the comet's tail after six days.
