Nightmares & Dreamscapes: Based on the Stories by Stephen King (Alternative title: Stephen King's Nightmares ) is an American television miniseries consisting of eight episodes based on various short stories by Stephen King . Stories from the short story collections Nachtschicht (OT: Night Shift ) from 1978 , Nightmares (OT: Nightmares & Dreamscapes ) from 1993 and In the Cabinet of Death (OT: Everything's Eventual ) from 2002 served as a template .

The professional killer Jason Renshaw murders on behalf of Hans Morris, the director of a toy factory.
When he gets home, a package full of toy soldiers is already waiting for him. The miniature military force comes to life and begins a campaign of revenge that, despite Renshaw's ingenuity, ends in an explosive finale.
Battleground is based on the short story Schlachtfeld (OT: Battleground ) from Stephen King's short story collection Night Shift from 1978 .

Doris and Lonnie Freeman are newly married and are spending their honeymoon in London.
An invitation to dinner takes them both to the Crouch End district, where they get lost and lose themselves in a demonic whirlpool of dimensions. To get back, they have to hurry, because the being that reigns in this parallel world is already hot on their heels.
Crouch End is based on the story of the same name from Stephen King's short story collection Nightmares from 1993 .
In the wrong world

The solution to the riddle: Umney is just a character in a novel, created by crime writer Sam Landry. Due to personal problems, he wants to change from his world to Umney and is now rewriting the story for his needs. But the smart detective does not take it so easily and fights for his right to live.

Filmmaker Howard Fornoy was dying when he made a video recording of himself telling the extent to which he was involved in the fall of human civilization.
His younger brother Bobby was an absolute child prodigy, a genius straight out of a picture book. After a lightning career in all possible scientific fields and constantly changing areas of interest, he realized what his big goal should be. He dreamed of finding a way to bring about world peace. Bobby's dream came true, but it had ghastly side effects.
The end of the end is based on Stephen King's story , the end of the whole mess (OT: The End of the Whole measurement ) also from the short story collection Nightmares comes.
In the cabinet of death

The successful horror author Richard Kinnell acquires a mysterious painting.
However, he soon learns that the painting shows more than it appears. The man in the picture seems to be following Kinnell, because in the background you can see places where he was recently. The street virus, as the picture is entitled, is getting closer and closer, leaving behind a trail of blood and death.
Everything's Eventual based on the short story The Road Virus moves north (OT: The Road Virus Heads North ) from Stephen King's story collection Everything's Eventual from the year 2002 .
