Eion Francis Hamilton Bailey (born June 8, 1976 in Santa Ynez Valley , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Eion Bailey grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. His father was a pilot and owner of a small airline for short flights within the state. When Eion was twelve years old, his father gave him flying lessons for the first time. Bailey discovered his acting talent at school and took part in numerous school performances. Eventually he studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City .

Bailey first attracted attention through appearances on the television series Dawson's Creek , Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Emergency Room . His breakthrough in series, however, probably came with the mini-series Band of Brothers, set in World War II, directed by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg . In it he took on the role of soldier David Kenyon Webster .

Bailey first appeared on screen in the 1997 drama A Better Place . He was also seen as a supporting actor in the ballet film Center Stage ( 2000 ) and the thriller Fight Club ( 1999 ). His popularity also rose with the psychological thriller Mindhunters ( 2004 ). In this film, he played a trainee profiler who, along with his colleagues (played by Val Kilmer and LL Cool J, among others ) is being held on a remote island and threatened by an unknown murderer.

Eion Bailey auditioned for the lead role in Batman Begins , but the role was later cast by actor Christian Bale . He also made an appearance on the US series Numbers - The Logic of Crime . From 2011 to 2013 he had the role of August W. Booth in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time .
