Candles on Bay Street is an American drama set in 2006 . Directed by John Erman , the screenplay was written by Michael Bortman and Jonathan Estrin based on the novel Lights Behind the River by KC McKinnon ( pseudonym of Cathie Pelletier).

action

Trooper's single mom Dee Dee returns to her hometown from which she moved 13 years ago. She meets Sam, who is now married to Lydia, with whom she had a love affair years ago. Lydia and Sam take a liking to Trooper, with whom they spend a lot of time. The boy helps the married couple in the veterinary practice they run.

It turns out that Dee Dee is terminally ill and is looking for someone to take care of her son after she dies. Lydia and Sam agree to take care of Trooper.

Reviews

Brian Lowry wrote in Variety magazine on November 20, 2006 that the film was predictable and sentimental. The involvement of Silverstone brings him a "star touch" . The well-used music creates a warm and melancholy mood.
