Aislinn Paul

Aislinn Claire Paul (born March 5, 1994 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress . She gained fame primarily through the role of Clare Edwards from the Canadian youth series Degrassi: The Next Generation .

life and career

Aislinn Paul was born in Toronto as the only daughter of actors Brian Paul and Deborah Tennant and was in front of the camera for commercials from an early age. She took on her first acting role at the age of six with a guest appearance on the series Jett Jackson . This was followed by appearances in Doc and In a Heartbeat . From 2003 to 2005 she was seen recurring in the Canadian-US dramedy series Wild Card . In 2007 she stood in front of the camera for the series Tell Me You Love Me . During the four months of filming, she temporarily lived in Los Angeles . On her return from California, she attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts, a school with an artistic profile in her hometown, together with her future serial colleague Chloe Rose .

From 2006 she was seen as Clare Edwards in the Canadian youth series Degrassi: The Next Generation . With the beginning of the sixth season still in a supporting role, she was part of the main cast from season 8 to the final 14th season in 2015. She played the role in more than 200 episodes. She was nominated for several Canadian television awards for her role, and in 2015 she received the Canadian Screen Awards , the most important Canadian television award, for her performance . During her work on the series, she also appeared in the series The Casting Room , Reign , Haven and the films Finn on the Fly , Harriet: Espionage aller Kind , Trigger and Night Cries . In the animated series Rick and Morty , she lends the voice of the unpopular high school student Nancy .

From 2015 to 2016 she played a supporting role as Phoebe Frady in the US miniseries Heroes Reborn . Also in 2016, she was part of the cast of the series Freakish , which was published on the streaming provider Hulu . Further appearances followed in Private Eyes and Room 104 .
