Heroes Reborn is an American mini-series by Tim Kring and the continuation of the mystery television series Heroes from 2006 to 2010. The series, which consists of 13 episodes, is also known as an event series or mini-series . The focus is again on people with supernatural abilities from all over the world. The main role remains with Jack Coleman , and other actors from the original production have been hired again. It premiered in the United States on September 24, 2015 on NBC .
In mid-January 2016, the broadcaster announced the discontinuation of the series.
In Germany, the series was shown on the German Syfy channel from October 6, 2015 . In July 2016 she started on RTL II on free TV, but was discontinued after two broadcasts with four & three episodes each.

People with exceptional skills are held responsible following a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas . To avenge the death of their son, who was killed in the attack, Luke and Joanne set out to find these people. Meanwhile, an impending natural disaster threatens to wipe out humanity. While the evil Erica Kravid tries to take advantage of this to reshape the world according to her ideas, others try to prevent the catastrophe. These include the outsider Tommy, the bold Malina, Miko, and ex-soldiers Carlos and Farah.

After the series ended with a cliffhanger , there were negotiations between Heroes producer Tim Kring and the NBC TV station about final films and episodes in the summer of 2010 . In the end, the broadcaster decided against it in September 2010.
In February 2014, NBC announced a sequel to the series called Heroes Reborn as a miniseries. In mid-June 2014, the return of Jack Coleman , who played Noah Bennet , was confirmed. In January 2015, Zachary Levi was signed . More casting news became known in March: After Robbie Kay and Danika Yarosh , Henry Zebrowski and Ryan Guzman followed . Fan favorite Masi Oka is also said to slip back into the role of Hiro Nakamura in Heroes Reborn . In April, after Jimmy Jean-Louis , who is known from the original as the Haitian, and Rya Kihlstedt, the three actors Pruitt Taylor Vince , Francesca Eastwood and Eve Harlow were hired for the project. Greg Grunberg's engagements as Matt Parkman and Dylan Bruce followed shortly thereafter . In early June it was announced that Sendhil Ramamurthy would also be named Dr. Mohinder Suresh will appear in Heroes Reborn . Nazneen Contractor was also hired for a role in Heroes Reborn .
Before it aired on television, there was a six-part web series called Dark Matters that introduced the new characters and their story.
Due to poor audience ratings, NBC announced on January 13, 2016 that the series would be discontinued after the first season.
