Nadine Geist (* in Berlin ) is a German dialogue book writer and dubbing director .
Life
Nadine Geist attended the French grammar school in Berlin , then began to study law, French and journalism, but did not finish any of the courses.
Then she moved to Munich and took on various odd jobs there, e.g. B. as an artist dresser, bartender or operator. The acquaintance of the established dubbing writer Jürgen Neu gave her an insight into the dubbing industry , and soon afterwards he found her a job as a dialogue book author at the dubbing studio Interopa Film in Berlin, so that she returned to her hometown. From her pen come u. a. the German dialogues for the US comedies Mighty Ducks - Part 3 (1998), Being John Malkovich (2000) and Miss Undercover (2001), or for the biographies Blow (2001) with Johnny Depp and Ali (2002) with Will Smith in the lead roles, the latter receiving an Oscar nomination for his performance .
After a while, Geist was committed to gangster films with “black scene language”, but after many productions this profession became too simple-minded and violent for her, the texts of the films became more and more similar. As she began to be interested in Indian culture privately, her interest in Indian "masala films" grew. When the dubbing company, which also edited Bollywood films, offered her a job for a series, she preferred to dub a Hindi film . At the end of 2005 she was given the opportunity to write the dialogue book for Swades - Heimat , but the translation took several weeks as the Indian language and culture were largely foreign to her. Since she was now also working as a dubbing director, z. For example, the German versions of Parineeta - The girl from neighbors' garden (2007), Don - The game begins (2007), Dhoom - Back in Action (2007), Chak De! She has also written dialogue books for television series, such as the cartoon series Die Ren and Stimpy Show (1996), Ginger's World (2003), Barnyard - Der Tierisch Verrückte Bauernhof (2009-2010) and, since 2012, the drama series Revenge . She was also responsible for writing and directing the Canadian sitcom Call Me Fitz (2010–2011) and the US mystery series Heroes (2007–2010). She has also been directing the primetime crime series Rizzoli & Isles since 2012 .
