action

Don is the boss of an international drug mafia and is wanted by the police worldwide. Roma applies to him after her brother and his friend Kamini were killed by Don. She plans to ambush Don at some point and do exactly the same to Don as he did to her brother and sister-in-law. When Don is seriously injured in the fight against the Indian police and the rumor spreads that Don has died, Inspector Da Silva persuades the young street singer Vijay, who looks very similar to Don, to take on his role. Vijay accepts Inspector Da Silva's offer on the condition that Deepu (a boy Vijay takes care of) goes to a good school. Inspector Da Silva fulfills Vijay's condition and Vijay agrees to play Don. The real Don, meanwhile, succumbs to his injuries and can no longer be interrogated.

Vijay succeeds relatively well in doubling Don, because he pretends to have lost his memory, is privy to everything and passes the crucial information on to da Silva. Da Silva also prevents Roma from killing Vijay / Don in a drug deal and she is privy to everything. The viewer learns that Da Silva is actually Vardhaan, an accomplice of the drug mafia, who has built a false identity as a police officer, but still wants to take revenge on his former drug lord. He succeeds in doing this during a raid, but Da Silva / Vardhaan himself also dies. Vijay in his role as Don is caught by the police.

The police think Vijay is Don because nobody else knows about the action. But Vijay is able to escape and discovers that Da Silva / Vardhaan has only faked his death. He can defeat Vardhaan in a fight on a platform and hand him over to the police along with a data carrier that he had leaked to Da Silva and which is therefore supposed to prove his innocence. His identity as Vijay is finally being recognized.

However, through a comment made by the wounded Vijay to Roma before he is driven away in the ambulance, it turns out that Vijay must in truth be the supposedly long-dead Don. But it's too late: Don is gone with Anita, his accomplice. It becomes clear: when Don was in the hospital and Vijay next door to recover from his surgery, Don swapped beds with Vijay. He injected an overdose of Valium into Vijay's IV and Vijay died. Don pretended to be Vijay until the very end, only to flee. So the unscrupulous Don managed to escape the police again.

Hence the saying: "It's not only difficult to catch Don, it's impossible!"
