Priyanka Chopra Jonas ( Hindi : प्रियंका चोपड़ा, Priyankā Coprā, born July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur , Jharkhand ) is an Indian actress , singer and Miss World 2000. She is best known for her roles in Bollywood films. In addition to acting, she has so far released three singles. From 2015 to 2018 Chopra was the leading actress in the US television series Quantico .

Life

Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur , Jharkhand , in July 1982 and grew up in Bareli , Uttar Pradesh . As a teenager, Priyanka lived with her aunt in the United States for a few years because her parents were doctors in the Indian Army and were constantly moving. Priyanka studied in Lucknow , Bareli and Boston . Upon her return from Boston, she was asked to enter the Femina Miss India contest, which her parents had registered her without her knowledge. She won the title and represented her country in the Miss World election in 2000 , which she also won. In December 2018 she married the American singer and actor Nick Jonas .

Acting career

She then went to film and made her Bollywood debut in 2003 in the action film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy alongside Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta . In the same year she was seen in Andaaz alongside Akshay Kumar , for which she received the Filmfare Award 2004 together with her film partner Lara Dutta for the best debut . In the same year she appeared alongside Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in the comedy Two Hearts for Rani (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi) , which became the third most successful hit of the year in India. She was also seen in Aitraaz as Kareena Kapoor's opponent, for which she was awarded the Best Villain Award by Filmfare readers in 2005 .

In 2006, Chopra established herself as a Bollywood actress through the female lead in the science fiction blockbuster Krrish (2006) alongside Hrithik Roshan and gained international attention in the action remake Don - The Game Begins alongside Shah Rukh Khan . In 2012 she traveled to Berlin for the German premiere of the sequel Don - The King is back at the 62nd Berlinale .

In the film year 2008 she was seen in the hit comedy Dostana (2008) with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham .
