The Star Screen Award Best Actress has been presented since 1994 and is chosen by a prestigious jury from the Bollywood film industry . The winners are announced in January each year.
Vidya Balan received the award for best actress for the fourth time in a row in 2013, Madhuri Dixit is the three-time winner of this award. Other popular actresses like Kajol , Rani Mukerji , Aishwarya Rai , Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have each won the award twice.
