action

Aditya Kashyap is a rich young industrialist who is in crisis. The woman he loves marries someone else, and his father's inherited company goes downhill. Desperate and in a depressed mood, he leaves the company building and walks aimlessly through the area until he finds himself at the train station. He gets on some train and drives away.

On this train he meets the beautiful and talkative Geet Dhillon, who is traveling from Bombay to Bathinda ( Punjab ), her hometown. Geet continuously talks about her life and her plan to run away with her lover Anshuman, who would not be accepted as a suitable son-in-law by her family. She annoys Aditya so much that the two of them miss the train at an intermediate stop.

Aditya now accompanies Geet and travels with her so that she can get to her parents safely in Bhatinda. During their turbulent journey, a real friendship develops between the two and Aditya gradually regains his zest for life through the exuberant and fun-loving nature of Geet.

Arrived in Bathinda, Geet is to be immediately married to a man to whom she was promised from an early age. To avoid this, Geet and Aditya flee Bathinda in a night-and-fog operation. Aditya brings Geet to her Anshuman in Manali and he returns to Bombay.

In Bombay, a completely different, fun-loving and committed Aditya gets his ailing company back on its toes and leads it to great success. It was only nine months after his return that he found out from Geet's family that they hadn't heard from Geet since they fled and that they believed she was with Aditya.

Aditya is confused because he thought Geet had long since returned to her parents with Anshuman. So Aditya travels to Manali to get to the bottom of the matter. There he meets Anshuman and learns from him that he has turned Geet away and that he had never planned to marry her with her. Geet had set this into her own mind without discussing it with Anshuman beforehand.

Aditya learns from Anshuman that Geet has called often from Shimla in the past few months and so Aditya goes there. He finds Geet in a hostel in Shimla, where she works as a teacher. Geet is completely changed, very withdrawn and has completely lost her exuberant zest for life. Aditya persuades her to come with him.

Before the two make their way back, Aditya wants Geet to finally draw a line under her love for Anshuman. He gets her to call Anshuman and give him the right opinion. After that, Geet is better. But with Anshuman, this call causes his love for Geet to reawaken and he immediately comes to Shimla. Hesitantly and after Aditya's persuasion, Geet lets himself into Anshuman again and so the three of them drive to Bathinda to see Geet's family.

But when they arrive in Bathinda, the wedding preparations have already been made to make up for the ceremony for a marriage between Aditya and Geet, because everyone still assumes that the two are a couple and have lived together for nine months. Geet wants to clear up the misunderstandings, but when she has the opportunity, she does not get the truth out of her lips. In the end, Geet remembers the good time we had with Aditya and only then does she realize that she doesn't love Anshuman, but Aditya. She confesses her love to him and the two marry.
