Deepika Padukone ( Kannada : ದೀಪಿಕಾ ಪಡುಕೋಣೆ , Dīpikā Paḍukōṇe ; born January 5, 1986 in Copenhagen ) is an Indian Bollywood actress and model.

Life

Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen as the daughter of Ujjala Padukone and the former badminton player Prakash Padukone . When Padukone was eleven months old, the family moved to Bangalore .

Deepika Padukone began to model and received her first major international order with advertising appearances for the cosmetics brand Maybelline . She played her first leading role in 2006 in the film Aishwarya . In 2007 she played the female lead in her first Hindi film Om Shanti Om . She received several awards for her role as Shanti-Priya in this film.

In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.

Since November 14, 2018, she has been married to the Indian actor and film partner ( Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat ) Ranveer Singh .

social commitment

In order to do something against the high rate of depression in India, Padukone founded the "Live Love Laugh" foundation.
