Star Screen Award
The Star Screen Award or Screen Weekly Award is an Indian film award that has been presented by the weekly magazine Screen since 1995 and was supported by Videocon International Limited until 2001.
history
The Star Screen Awards are different from other popularity awards; the complete nomination for the final selection for the Star Screen Awards is made by a committee of experts from the film industry itself (similar to the Oscars). The criteria for the award are not only popularity with the public, but also technical ability.
The awards for Hindi / Marathi films, television productions and non-film music are presented annually at a glamorous event in January at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai . For the regional cinema in South India, Screen has already awarded the “Screen Awards for Excellence in South Indian Cinema” three times , which are presented in Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam and Kannada .
The Star Screen Awards are the only awards ceremony in India attended by the Executive Director and Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences .
