Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor (born September 28, 1982 in Mumbai , Maharashtra ) is an Indian actor.
Life
Ranbir Kapoor, family member of the Indian Kapoor actor dynasty , is the son of the actor couple Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh . He is named after his grandfather Ranbirraj Kapoor and the cousin of Bollywood stars Karisma and Kareena Kapoor .
Born and raised in Mumbai , he attended the renowned Bombay Scottish School in the Mahim district, then the HR College of Commerce and Economics. He then moved to New York City to study acting and directing at the School of Visual Arts and the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute , where his role model Al Pacino had already studied. He then returned to India in 2005 to gain experience as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali while filming Black .
Director Bhansali then offered him the male lead in his new film project Saawariya (2007), the character of which was sometimes inspired by the performance of his grandfather Raj Kapoor. The film did not have any commercial success, but Kapoor's acting performance was honored with numerous prizes, including the Filmfare Award for Best Debut .
His next film, the romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno - Love on Detours (2008) together with Deepika Padukone achieved high box office results. The first item song in the film is a remix of his father's superhit Rishi Kapoor from the film Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin (1977), the title of which gave the film its name. During the filming, he and Deepika Padukone became closer, this relationship lasted about a year. In 2009 he appeared in three successful films, the coming-of-age film Wake Up Sid , the comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and the drama Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year . For these performances the Filmfare Award jury awarded him the Critics' Prize - Best Actor .
The role of the unemployed musician in Rockstar (2011) was specially tailored by director Imtiaz Ali. For this, Kapoor received his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor and other film awards. Immediately afterwards, director Anurag Basu hired him for his new film Barfi! (2012) as protagonists. Since his character was deaf and dumb, Ranbir Kapoor had to prove his talent like a silent movie star using facial expressions, body language and slapstick . He was awarded numerous film prizes for this performance, and in 2013 he again received the Filmfare Award for best leading actor.
His second collaboration with Ayan Mukerji in the romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) was Kapoor's greatest commercial success to date, both domestically and overseas, as the film is one of the four top-grossing films in the Hindi film industry to date . In contrast, Kapoor's latest action comedy Besharam , which was released in Indian cinemas in October 2013, was a flop. He is currently filming Bombay Velvet by Anurag Kashyap next Anushka Sharma busy.
In the summer of 2013, Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu presented their newly founded production company Picture Shuru Productions , a project that they have been working on since Barfi! decided two years ago. Her planned projects are a modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes with the film title Jagga Jasoos and a film biography about the Indian singer Kishor Kumar , with Kapoor again playing the protagonists.
