The film technician and stage actor JC Watson (1890–1968) married Golda Gladdis Wimer (1893–1979) in 1910. Between 1912 and 1930, the couple had nine children, all of whom worked as child actors through their father's mediation and made over 1,000 film appearances. They played alongside many great stars of their time and four Watson sons played the children of Governor Hopper in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939). The family lived near Echo Park in Los Angeles and the children attended Belmont High School. As a family, they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
