Dana Schweiger (born Dana Carlsen on February 29, 1968 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American presenter , entrepreneur , author and a former model .

Private life

Dana Schweiger was born in Seattle in 1968. She grew up there with her sister with her uncle. In 1995, after a two-year relationship, she married the German actor Til Schweiger . They have four children together: a son (* 1995) and the actresses Luna (* 1997), Lilli (* 1998) and Emma (* 2002). The family initially lived in Malibu (California) until they moved to Hamburg in 2004. The couple separated in November 2005; the marriage ended in divorce in May 2014. Dana Schweiger has been living in the USA again with her daughter Emma since 2016.

Career

Schweiger first studied business administration and later trained as a beautician at the Esthetic Skincare Institute in Seattle . In the 1990s she worked as a model for Calvin Klein and H&M, among others . In 2009 she had an advertising contract with Katjes . In 2012 she was a juror on the show Deutschland sucht den Superstar Kids . She is the co-founder of Bellybutton, a mail order company for children's supplies. Together with Ursula Karven , she is the author of several non-fiction books on the subject of pregnancy, childbirth and babies. Her autobiography was published in 2019 .
