Nemce (1948-1970 Slovak "Zvolenské Nemce"; German Nemtze , Hungarian Zólyomnémeti - to 1888 Nemce ) is a municipality in the middle of Slovakia , with a population of 1,161 (as of December 31, 2019) and is located in the Banská Bystrica District , which for Banskobystrický kraj heard.

The place is located below the Starohorské vrchy Mountains on the Nemčiansky creek , five kilometers northeast of Banská Bystrica .
history
Nemce was founded in the 13th century by miners from Neusohl , but the first written mention (as Nemetfalva ) is only from 1473. In the Middle Ages it was owned by various citizens of Neusohl, then it belonged to the Thurzo-Fugger company and finally from 1501 to 1848 to the city of Neusohl. For this reason, the history of the place is closely linked to the city.
1970–1990 the place was a district of Banská Bystrica.
