history

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1327 as Malahow , then in 1422 as Maleho . Historically, there was strong German settlement in the village as a result of the German colonization of the Hungarian mining areas. Silver, iron and mercury were extracted in the local mines. In the 16th century the village was attacked by the Turks and finally burned down in 1599.

In 1828 there are 38 houses and 205 inhabitants who were mainly employed in agriculture. After 1907 the village of Dolné Pršany (then Alsóperesény ) was incorporated.
