history

Môlča was first mentioned in writing in 1424 as Mocha , but it was founded around 1300. With the exception of the years 1424 and 1441, when Môlča was part of the territory of Lipch Castle , the property belonged to the noble family of Mičiná. The settlement of Dolná Môlča, Horná Môlča and Prostredná Môlča emerged through local expansion in the 15th century. Due to the somewhat remote location in a narrow valley, the community was spared the direct effects of the wars in the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1828 there were 66 houses and 392 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and cattle dealers.

Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.
