Kynceľová (until 1946 Slovak "Kyncelová"; German Künzelsdorf , Hungarian Göncölfalva - until 1888 Kincelova ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 374 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Banská Bystrica , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the far north of the Zvolenská kotlina basin at the foot of the Starohorské vrchy Mountains . The Selčiansky potok flows through Kynceľová in the catchment area of the Hron . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 385 m nm and is four kilometers from Banská Bystrica .
Neighboring municipalities are Nemce in the north, Selce in the northeast and Banská Bystrica (districts Senica , Banská Bystrica and Rudlová ) in the east, south and west.
history
Kynceľová was first mentioned in writing in 1435 as Kunczelfalva , but it was founded in the 13th century on the territory belonging to the town of Neusohl. Other historical names include Kunczldorf or Kinczeldorf (1489), Kinczelowa (1680) and Kyncelowa (1808). Between 1496 and 1526 the village was owned by the Thurzo family , then again by the town of Neusohl. In 1828 there were 14 houses and 107 inhabitants who were employed as carters and farmers. At the beginning of the 20th century, the inhabitants were also known as bricklayers and carpenters.
Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 386 inhabitants in Kynceľová, including 367 Slovaks , two Magyars and one Moravian , one each from Rome , Russia , Czech and Ukrainian . 12 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity.
130 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 105 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, eight residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church, five residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses, three residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Baha'i, the Baptists and to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church; six residents professed a different denomination. 100 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 26 inhabitants was not determined.
