Dolná Mičiná (Hungarian Alsómicsinye ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia , with 435 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Banská Bystrica , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located in the mountainous part of the Zvolenská kotlina basin in the traditional Podpoľanie landscape by the Mičinský creek . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 368 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Banská Bystrica .
Neighboring municipalities are Horná Mičiná in the north, Môlča in the northeast, Čerín in the east and southeast, Sebedín-Bečov and Lukavica in the south, Hronsek in the southwest and Vlkanová in the west.
history
Dolná Mičiná was first mentioned in writing in 1402 as Alsowfalu (literally "lower village"), other historical names included Inferior Mychyna (1565), Also Mykefalwa (1572) and Dolní Mičina (1808). The village was established in the second half of the 14th century by expanding the original Mičiná . Until the 16th century Dolná Mičiná was owned by the Micsinyei family , then by the Beniczky family . In 1828 there were 92 houses and 490 inhabitants who were employed as farmers, cattle dealers and weavers.
Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Dolná Mičiná had 367 residents, 347 of whom were Slovaks and three Czechs . 17 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
136 residents committed to the Evangelical Church AB, 102 residents to the Roman Catholic Church and 24 residents to the Greek Catholic Church. 64 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 41 inhabitants was not determined.
