Tajov ( Hungarian Tajó - until 1882 Tajova ) is a municipality in Banskobystrický kraj in central Slovakia .
geography
Tajov is located on the eastern slope of the Kremnica Mountains by the Tajovský creek , 7 km west of Banská Bystrica . The municipality covers 9.3 km² and the height in the center is 464 m nm
In addition to the main town, the municipality also includes the Jabriková district ( Imréd in Hungarian - incorporated on January 1, 1943).
history
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1495 and was the location of two copper works from 1500 to 1893.
