Vratislav Greško [ ˈvracisɫav ˈgrɛʃkɔ ] (born July 24, 1977 in Tajov ) is a former Slovak football player .
Career
The left foot began his professional career at FK Dukla Banská Bystrica . In 1997 he moved to FK Inter Bratislava , where he played until 1999. From 1999 to October 2000 he played in the German Bundesliga at Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
He moved to Serie A at Inter Milan for 5 million euros during his second season . Although he was a regular there, he had to leave the Milanese in 2002. An unfortunate return in the last game of the season was used by an opposing player to score. The game was eventually lost and Inter lost the championship race, which is why Greško became a bogeyman among Inter fans.
After he had only played five times in the following season in Italy at AC Parma , he was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers in January 2003 , where he stayed for four years from the 2003/04 season and initially played very successfully. At the end of 2004, however, a serious knee injury set him back. Not only was this season over for him, in the following season he also struggled with form and persistent complaints. In two years it was only used six times and in 2006 did not get a new contract.
In August 2006 I got in touch with Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg , who had already signed his compatriots Marek Mintál and Róbert Vittek . In September Greško signed a highly performance-related one-year contract there, taking into account his injury, with the option to return to professional business at the age of 29. In October he came as a substitute for his first Bundesliga appearance for the club.
1. FC Nürnberg did not take the option to extend the contract for a further two years and parted ways with the Slovak, who then moved to his old employer Bayer 04 Leverkusen for free . In June 2009 Bayer Leverkusen announced that Gresko would leave the club with an unknown destination. Since March 2011 he has been playing for ŽP Šport Podbrezová (promoted to the 2nd league of the 2011/12 season - the second highest team competition in Slovakia), where he received an annual contract in July 2011.
Vratislav Greško plays on the left wing. He is actually a trained winger, but is usually placed in midfield and can also be used on the left side of defense.
In the summer of 2015, his playing career ended at ZP Sport Podbrezova in Slovakia.
