history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1407 as Persian and is a continuation of a settlement founded in the 13th century. The first inhabitants mainly worked as charcoal burners in connection with the mining activity around Neusohl, especially during the time of the Hungarian Copper Trading Company in the first half of the 16th century. Associated with this was another occupation as a carter, some of which lasted until the first half of the 20th century. After the fall of the mining industry, the inhabitants were employed as lumberjacks, farmers and cattle keepers, even though the soil was not very fertile. In 1828 there were 26 houses and 178 inhabitants.

The former district of Dolné Pršany was spun off in 1863 and is now part of the Malachov municipality.

Until 1918 the place in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or today Slovakia.
