TNT Comedy (from 2012 to 2014 glitz * and from 2014 to 2016 TNT Glitz ) is a pay TV channel of Turner Entertainment International . It was launched on May 1, 2011 in Latin America and Brazil under the name glitz * , where it replaced the local versions of Fashion.TV . On September 20, 2011, the Turner Group announced that glitz * would also start in Germany in May 2012. It was hoped to be able to compete with the broadcaster sixx , which serves the same target group on free TV. However, Glitz can only be received via pay TV, making it Turner's fifth pay TV broadcaster in Germany.

Glitz * started on May 8, 2012 in SD and HD . The HD branch has since been distributed via the digital package “Kabel Digital Home HD” or “Premium HD” from Vodafone Kabel Deutschland , “DigitalTV ALLSTARS + HD Option” from Unitymedia , and via Telekom Entertain in the package “HD”. The slogan of glitz * was "the sun is shining here". Like sixx, the station's program should be aimed at women.
Glitz * was renamed TNT Glitz on April 1, 2014 to match its sister stations . The new slogan is "We are pink". Since then, the station has also been broadcast in HD on Sky .
On June 1, 2016, the station was renamed again, this time TNT Comedy. It will mainly focus on comedy formats. Various series therefore switched between the individual TNT channels.

The series that have been broadcast since the start of the broadcast include the German-language premieres of the comedy series Parks and Recreation , Web Therapy , Girls , Hot in Cleveland and Happily Divorced , as well as the drama series Parenthood , Pretty Little Liars and Unforgettable . The reality shows Top Chef, 9 by Design, The Rachel Zoe Project and Top Design are also shown. The in-house productions also include InStyle magazine, which presents current fashion and beauty trends and reports from international events and interviews with stars. The program is also filled with reruns of the shows Body of Proof , Private Practice , Grey's Anatomy , 2 Broke Girls , Two and a half Men and Crossing Jordan . You can also see classics like Hart aber cordial (has been broadcast on the TNT series since the takeover of TNT ) and McLeod's Daughters . In addition to the German synchronization, the series can also be viewed with the original sound.
On May 14, 2020 it was announced that TNT Comedy would star with The Rising of the Shield Hero , That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Dr. Stone will be showing anime TV series for the first time starting July 15.
