Boomerang is the name of television stations belonging to the American cartoon network group, which is part of Turner Broadcasting System .

Cartoon Network launched Boomerang, a spin-off channel that primarily shows classic cartoon series from the archives of Warner Bros. , Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Hanna-Barbera . Outside of the USA there are branches of the station in some countries. a. in Great Britain , Poland , Australia , Germany , Spain , France , Brazil and in some Eastern European countries .

The German branch has existed since June 1, 2006 and its programming largely corresponds to that of the other European boomerang stations. Boomerang Germany is chargeable in the digital offer of the German cable network operators Vodafone Kabel Deutschland , KabelKiosk and Unitymedia as well as via satellite at arena and since September 1, 2007 at Premiere Star. Since switching from Premiere to Sky Deutschland, it can be received via the Sky Welt Extra program package. The program is also broadcast via UMTS via Vodafone Live! Mobile TV and T-Mobile Mobile TV are widespread (paid premium channels).

Cablecom has been selling the station in Switzerland in its digital offering since April 2007 . The Boomerang program guide can be viewed on the Vodafone Kabel Deutschland homepage. The station will also be shown in Austria.

In September 2011, Boomerang launched the Cartoonito preschool program window together with kabel eins and sixx . On September 20, 2011, Turner announced that Boomerang HD will launch in 2013 in Germany.

On October 31, 2013, Turner announced that Boomerang HD will be launched on December 3, 2013 at Vodafone Kabel Deutschland, Telekom Entertain & Teleclub.

On October 14, 2014, Turner announced that Boomerang would also receive the new global design and logo in German-speaking countries. The new look of the station was implemented on February 16, 2015.
