After the witch was trapped in a magic ball, Queen Ozma thanked Dorothy and gave her red shoes with which she can tear into the land of Oz. The witch's nephew , Vilhelmina does everything possible to get the red shoes, because only with them can she free the witch from the crystal ball. In the second season she actually manages and frees the witch. The witch plans a vengeance, but then the Wizard of Oz shows up and prevents it.
