The series has been produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Renegade Animation in the United States since 2014. It is the fifth TV adaptation of the original short film series , which were produced from 1940 to 1967. It was first broadcast in the US on April 9, 2014 on Cartoon Network . After the first four episodes of the second season, the series initially took a one and a half year break and then switched to the video-on-demand service of the station Boomerang , where the other new episodes have been published since September 21, 2017.
In Germany, the series has been shown on the German branch Boomerangs since November 3, 2014 and on free TV on Super RTL since February 22, 2016 .
