Girls is an American comedy television series directed by Lena Dunham for cable broadcaster HBO . Dunham developed the series, inspired by Sex and the City and Gossip Girl , provided it with autobiographical elements, and plays the main role of Hannah Horvath herself. It premiered on April 15, 2012 on HBO. In Germany, a dubbed version of the series has been broadcast on the pay TV channel Glitz * since October 17, 2012 . The second season followed at Glitz * from May 15, 2013. The first season was broadcast on free TV in two parts on July 13 and 14, 2013 on ZDFneo . The second season ran on ZDFneo from October to November 2013.

The series has received critical acclaim and received at the Primetime Emmy Awards 2012, in addition to several nominations, including for Best Comedy Series , the Emmy for the best casting of a comedy series.

action

Hannah Horvath is a woman in her mid-twenties whose parents cut her financial support so that she can finally stand on her own two years after college . Hannah works in various office environments and tries to build a career as a writer at the same time . Together with her three closest friends, she tries to cope with life in Brooklyn ( New York City ).

The focus of the ten episodes of the first season is the self-discovery of the four women and their position on sexuality and partner relationships. The erotic scenes filmed unusually openly for the American market, the chaotic life in a shared apartment, the overflowing urge to talk from Shosanna, the promiscuity of the well-traveled Jessa and the staidness of Marnie give girls the impression of a social study. As for the cinematic treatment of partnership, Girls recalls the series Tell Me You Love Me, also first broadcast by HBO and written by a woman . The main theme of girls is life in the big city in contrast to life in the provinces where Hannah Horvath grew up. Her boyfriend Adam, in particular, represents the New Yorker's radical attitude to life.

Cast and dubbing

The German synchronization was for a dialogue book of Andreas Hinz and the dialogue director of Marika of Radvanyi by the synchronous company lavender film in Potsdam .
