Katharina Otte

Katharina Otte (born May 29, 1987 in Hamburg ) is a German hockey player .

Otte has been active in youth teams for the German Hockey Association since 2001 . In 2002 and 2003 she was a member of the winning team at the U16 European Championship. In 2008 she became the European Under-21 Champion in Valencia. The midfielder made her debut in the German national hockey team on October 3, 2008, in 2009 she reached the final with the German team at the European Championships in Amstelveen, in the final the Dutch women won 3-2. At the field hockey world championship in 2010 , she finished fourth with the German team. Up to and including 2012, Otte took part in the Champions Trophy four times , with the German team finishing fourth in 2009 , 2010 and 2012 .

At the 2016 Olympic Games , Otte was only intended as a substitute with P accreditation . After Annika Marie Sprink was injured in the semifinals, Otte was still used in the bronze medal game in the win against New Zealand.

For winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games, she received the Silver Laurel Leaf on November 1, 2016 .

Katharina Otte has made 152 international matches, seven of them indoors. (As of August 5, 2016)

She started at the Großflottbeker THGC and later moved to the Berlin HC , with which she became German champion in 2010. Otte is a law student.
