The German national hockey team for women is a selection of top German players made by the national coach . It represents the German Hockey Association (DHB) on an international level, for example at the Hockey World Championship , the Champions Trophy or the Olympic Games . The victories at the 2004 Olympic Games and the 1976 and 1981 World Championships are among the greatest successes .
Currently (as of October 2017) Germany ranks 6th in the world - and 3rd in the European rankings in the field and 2nd in the world and 2nd in the European rankings in the hall.
