Netherlands women's national hockey team

The Dutch national hockey team for women represents the Netherlands in international hockey competitions . She is a three-time Olympic champion and record world champion with nine world championship titles.

The Netherlands is currently number 1 in the world - and number 2 in the European ranking.

history

The Netherlands played a dominant role in women's hockey from the start . The first independent women's hockey clubs were founded in the late Victorian era . On October 16, 1911, the Nederlandse Dames Hockey Bond (NDHB) was founded. During the German occupation he joined the Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB). The actual merger followed in 1954.

In 1951, the NDHB hosted the first international women’s tournament in which France and Switzerland participated.
