The Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB) is the Dutch association for hockey and was founded in 1898.

The KNHB had 184,923 members in 2006, which corresponds to a share of 11.3 ‰ of the population in the Netherlands (Germany 0.83 ‰). Since 2001 the number of members has increased by approx. 35%. The seat is in Nieuwegein near Utrecht. The former national player Jan Albers has headed the association since 2006.

The KNHB organizes field and indoor hockey games, with indoor hockey only playing a subordinate role in contrast to Germany. The game operation also differs in that in the regular league system only 1st teams play and other teams compete in separate competitions. The KNHB hosted the 1973 men's hockey world championships in Amstelveen , 1976 also held the women's event in Amstelveen, and the 1998 double event in Utrecht .
