The 13th women's field hockey world championship was held from May 31 to June 15, 2014 at the Kyocera Stadium in The Hague . Twelve national teams competed against each other in initially two groups and then in placement games. A total of 38 international matches were completed.
The Netherlands became world champions for the 7th time .
qualification
In addition to the hosts, the Netherlands , the five reigning continental champions were eligible to participate.

In addition, the six best-placed teams in the 3rd round of the World Hockey League ( Belgium , England , South Korea , New Zealand , USA , China ) qualified in June 2013.
