The 1994 women's field hockey world championship was the eighth edition of the World Cup . It took place from July 13th to 24th, 1994 in Dublin , Ireland. The Australians secured their first world championship and thus ended the Dutch series after three world championship titles. The defending champion only reached 6th place.
