Preliminary round
Group A
In the preliminary round of Group A, Germany had the best result in this category, just ahead of Korea, with a rate of 28% awarded penalty corners. Nevertheless, the German women performed too weakly to reach the final round because they did not score enough field goals and received significantly more goals from the current game than Argentina and China. The defeats against China and Korea played a key role.
Group winners Argentina presented themselves with a very balanced game behavior, with the success being attributable in particular to the strong defense (few penalty corners and field goals against the team). Surprise final round participant China also allowed few penalty corners against themselves and scored just about decisive points with relatively few goals scored.

Group B
The Dutch team had prevailed in Group B not least with set pieces and a strong defense: The by far most awarded penalty corners (29%) and the fewest penalty corners imposed on the team (5%) speak for themselves . But even after scoring field goals, the women from Holland had the best result in their group with 28%, albeit just ahead of Spain in this category. The significantly weaker ranking of the Spaniards shows that a strong storm alone is not enough.
