Host

In March 2013, one month after the FIH started the award process for the period 2014-2018, the associations of Australia , Belgium , England and New Zealand officially announced that they would apply to host the 2018 World Cup. However, as of August 31, 2013, the Belgian federation did not submit any application documents. In October 2013, about a month before the award, Australia also withdrew its application for “technical and financial reasons”.

On November 7, 2013, the world federation FIH announced in Lausanne that England would host the 2018 Women's World Cup.
