Hockey Australia

The Australian Hockey Federation operates under the name Hockey Australia . Hockey Australia provides the Kookaburras , as the men's hockey team in Australia calls themselves, the Hockeyroos , which is the female equivalent , and is a member of the FIH . Hockey Australia is also responsible for league game operations.

Hockey Australia had 230,414 hockey players in 2007, which is a double compared to 2004, but also a decrease of 11,014 players compared to 2006. Most hockey players came from Victoria (61,009) and New South Wales (57,645), least of them from the Northern Territory (1,589) and Australia Capital Territory (3,918). There are a total of 742 hockey fields.
