The Uhlenhorster Hockey Club (UHC Hamburg) is a sports club from Hamburg . It was founded in 1901 by 22 tennis players from Hamburg . The club has around 1,800 members in the sports of tennis and hockey and has 18 outdoor and 6 indoor tennis courts. Hockey is on a natural grass and two artificial pitches played in winter in a club's hockey hall. The club complex has been located in Hummelsbüttel directly on the Upper Alster since 1923 .

The Uhlenhorster club team provided Germany's hockey Olympic team at the 1908 Olympic Games in London .
The first men's and women's teams play in the top German league on the field and in the hall - the men's and women's field hockey Bundesliga and the men's and women's indoor hockey Bundesliga . The adult section comprises a total of 25 teams, five men’s, four women’s, 17 senior and leisure teams (excluding point games). The men achieved their greatest successes by winning the German indoor hockey championship in 1964, 2002 and 2018. The women became German field hockey champions in 1963, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017 , and German indoor hockey champions in 2014 and 2017 .
In 2003 the club hosted the European Indoor Hockey Cup , in which it lost the final 3: 4 against the Polish representative KS Pocztowiec Poznań . In 2008 the club won the newly introduced Euro Hockey League , in 2009 the club lost just under 4-5 in the final against HC Bloemendaal , in 2010 the UHC was able to reach the final for the third time and secured a 3-1 victory over the HC Rotterdam the second title.

The club is known for its large number of leisure teams. They are founded by late beginners - mostly parents of youth players. With around 500 children and young people, the youth department is one of the largest in Germany.
On December 19, 2012, the men's hockey team at UHC Hamburg was awarded the honorary prize for outstanding sporting success in 2012 in the Hamburg City Hall. UHC Hamburg has already won the “Green Belt for Exemplary Talent Promotion in Clubs” several times, most recently in 2017.
Hockey youth
The UHC Hamburg is known for its very good youth work and has one of the most successful youth departments in Germany. The youth work of the Uhlenhorster HC has intensified in the last few years and a large number of national championship titles have been won. Some of the most successful full-time trainers in Germany are involved in both male and female youth.
Some youth teams are among the best youth classes in Germany and often have several youth national players in their ranks. Players like Moritz Fürste have emerged from their youth .
In 2007, Jugend B launched the Julian Harnack Tournament in honor of a deceased member. To this day, donations are collected here every year for the benefit of the Children's Cancer Center Hamburg.
tennis
In addition to the first women and first men performance teams, who have been among the leaders in their class in Hamburg and northern Germany for many years, almost 20 teams are registered for the media games .
The men's 30 team of Uhlenhorster HC will play in the tennis Bundesliga from 2015 (men's 30) .
The currently most successful club members in tennis are the brothers Mischa and Alexander Zverev .
