The Cologne Hockey Tennis Club Blau-Weiss (KHTC Blau-Weiss) is a sports club based in Cologne .

The club was created in March 1948 through the merger of the Cologne hockey club, founded in 1930, and the Phoenix tennis club, which was also formed in 1930. The club, which has around 1300 members, has its club premises in Beethovenpark in Cologne-Sülz and has two art hockey and one natural turf as well as 13 tennis courts and a 3-field tennis hall. There is also a street ball court and a gym. In 2016, the second artificial turf pitch was inaugurated to take account of the boom in membership in the hockey department.

The club has 25 teams in tennis , including 7 youth teams and in hockey over 46 teams, including 37 youth teams (as of the 2015 field season). In both sports, the club is integrated into the state's talent assessment / promotion program.

history

The first men's team in hockey , for a long time the only sporting figurehead of the department, played in the field for the first time in the regional league in the 2012/13 season after a long membership in the Bundesliga, but managed to gain direct promotion. In the hall, the 2nd Bundesliga could not be held after more than ten years in the 2013/14 season. After finishing 2nd in the 2004/2005 indoor league, the team was promoted to the 1st indoor Bundesliga in the 2005/2006 season . In the 2006/2007 indoor season, the team was relegated again due to the goal difference being one hit worse . The current player-trainer is Olympic and world champion Jan-Marco Montag , who managed to return to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2015 both indoors and out on the field. Last succeeded the first men in the indoor season 2018/19 promotion to the first Bundesliga Hall . In the following season, the league succeeded.

The first women's team commuted between regional and major leagues long after the departure of some experienced players. Under coach Ralf Knöller, however, a new structure could be made. The women are currently playing in the second highest division in the hall, the regional league, and in the 2011/2012 season they also made it to the second division on the field. However, they did not manage to stay up, but returned with coach Jens Lüninghöner in the 2013/2014 season. In the past, the hockey ladies had great successes such as winning the German Indoor Hockey Championship in 1977, 1979, 1980 and 1985 and winning the German Field Hockey Championship in 1980, 1986 and 1987.

successes

While the men have not yet won a national championship, the women had their successful period in the late 70s to mid 80s, when they managed to win 7 titles (3 × field and 4 × hall).

Ladies

  • 3 × field hockey champions (1980, 1986, 1987)
