The HTC SW Neuss ( Hockey and Tennis Club Schwarz-Weiß Neuss eV ) is a traditional sports club in the Lower Rhine district town of Neuss . More than 500 active members play hockey and tennis successfully on two artificial turf pitches with floodlights as well as ten outdoor tennis courts and two indoor tennis courts.
history
The club was founded in 1928, but the two sports areas separated shortly afterwards to form the Neuss tennis club 03 and the Schwarz-Weiß Neuss hockey club . After the Second World War, the HTC SW Neuss was formed again and has since played hockey and tennis in the Jahnstadion in the stadium district .
In 1952 the club's own home was inaugurated, and in 1981 the tennis hall with two courts. In 1991 the club received its first artificial turf pitch and, for the 70th anniversary in 1998, a floodlight system. In 2004 another artificial turf pitch was built on Jahnstrasse.
successes
The men's team currently plays (2007/2008 season) both in the indoor hockey Bundesliga (second place in the final table in Group West) and in the field hockey Bundesliga . At the beginning of July 2007 the men's team played for the first time in the club's history at the Hyundai Final Four in Mönchengladbach for the German field hockey championship, and took third place. The young team from Neuss celebrated their greatest success at the end of January at the German Indoor Hockey Championship in Hamburg . Qualified as second in Group West and with a victory in the quarter-finals away against TG Frankenthal , SW Neuss went to the semi-finals in Hamburg. With a victory in the semifinals over the Club an der Alster , it was not over until the final against the Rüsselsheim RK . The first men's team is thus German indoor hockey vice-champion.
The indoor hockey season 2007/2008 was the most successful so far for the women from SW Neuss. Promoted from the regional league, the team around coach Markus Lonnes marched through to the quarter-finals in Rüsselsheim . In addition, the female youth A + B provides the German champions 2005. The female B youth became German champions in 2008/2009 and was even able to defend the title in the 2009/2010 indoor season.
